Tips on How Busy Women should Maintain their Healthy eating Habits

in Burning Fat, Losing Weight

how Living in such a fast-paced world today, it can be very hard for a person to stay and stick to the recommended diet, and the challenge becomes even tougher for a busy mom who has to juggle family and career obligations. A busy lifestyle can prove very hard to make it to the gym, to prepare and pack lunch or even prepare healthy meals on time, leaving people with the only option of eating ‘convenient’ fast foods. Here are a few tips to help you stick to your diet regardless of the busy lifestyle you lead and the temptations that may come your way.

  • Educate your family on healthy eating habits and ensure you prepare only the food that should be eaten at each meal. This way, no one will be tempted to clear off the left over. Measure and prepare a portion per person for each meal.
  • You shouldn’t try saving time by multitasking i.e. snacking or eating at your desk while working as you will end up overeating without knowing. Create some time to serve your food and concentrate on it while eating. This way, you will end up eating less and will feel full thus reduce the chances of snaking in between your working hours.
  • It is advisable to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day but if the idea of taking water makes you sick, you can enhance the water flavor and make it more appealing. You can use lemon slices or float mint sprigs in a crystal pitcher to flavor your drinking water or better still, use flavored bottled water.
  • Ensure you eat breakfast from home which you can do by waking up early enough to avoid morning rush. Breakfast ensures you don’t end up overeating in the course of the day. Still on point, you should ensure you eat a healthy breakfast, not just eating for the sake of eating – a piece of fruit, a slice of toast and a can of yogurt will do.
  • It’s a known fact that losing baby weight can be quite frustrating, particularly because you will need to nourish the baby for up to a year after birth. Your body needs around 1000 more calories each day if you are breastfeeding. With that said, you should never skimp because you will simply convince the body that it is on starvation mode, thus complicating the efforts of losing weight. Rather than fight the body’s natural way of storing nutrition for the baby, ensure you become extra active and eat healthy food portions.

Boiled down, an active lifestyle complimented by a well balanced nutritious diet is the main keys to healthy weight loss.
